P1 · ROUTE STABILITY

Start with the target region, then address congestion

Cross-border connections can fluctuate during peak hours, and repeatedly reconnecting is rarely the answer. A better approach is to filter routes by the region where the target service is available, then compare direct and relay paths. 04VPN presents regions and route types separately, making it easier to switch paths while keeping the same destination. Prioritize sustained stability for work calls and throughput for file transfers. If a route becomes briefly congested, keep the target region and adjust only the path to reduce interruptions from repeated logins or changing regional detection.

SELECTION LOGIC

Keep the selection order consistent

When choosing a cross-border network service, first check whether the target region is covered, then confirm access on your everyday platforms, and finally compare plans against your real monthly usage. This is more useful than chasing route count alone: a large route list cannot help if the region is wrong or the client does not work on your usual devices.

04VPN explains routes, devices, plans and refund terms separately. Coverage includes 90+ countries / 200+ routes; platforms include Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux; simultaneous devices are unlimited; no email address is required to create an account. Monthly-plan traffic resets each month on the activation date. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Data packages last until used and never expire, making them suitable for irregular or occasional use.

This structure does not require users to understand complex protocols first. Everyday users can begin with the target region and use case, while advanced users can compare paths on the route and protocol pages. When something goes wrong, it is easier to identify whether the issue involves the account, device, route, app or usage instead of assigning every connection problem to one cause.

ROUTE PREVIEW

Define the access goal first, then choose by distance, route type and Streaming support. The table shows static route attributes only; brief speed results should not replace long-term usage judgment.

Asia routes
Japan Tokyo Relay Supported
Hong Kong Hong Kong Relay Supported
Singapore Singapore Direct Supported
Americas and Europe routes
United States Los Angeles Relay Supported
Netherlands Amsterdam Direct Supported

Rule out the wrong region first

When accessing content tied to a specific region, the target region comes first. For a Japan-based service, compare routes within Japan rather than searching every route for a single fastest result. Once the region is correct, choose based on the task: video playback needs sustained transfer, online meetings need continuity, and web or messaging tools need stable responsiveness. Different tasks can use different routes; there is no need to lock every device to the same exit region.

Direct and relay routes are not simply a speed ranking

Direct paths have fewer steps, but their performance depends on the connection quality between the local network and the target region. Relay paths add a routing stage yet may provide a steadier cross-region path. When performance fluctuates during peak hours, compare route types within the same region. Test with the same device, app and a similar time window to avoid mistaking background updates or local Wi-Fi changes for route problems.

TRAFFIC PACKS

Choose a data package for irregular usage

Data packages remain valid until used and never expire. Options include ¥158 / 300GB, ¥358 / 1000GB and ¥658 / 3000GB. They suit users who do not want monthly resets, have intermittent usage or want to keep unused capacity long term. Monthly plans fit steady recurring needs, while data packages make it easier to match spending to actual consumption; choose according to your usage rhythm.

How to estimate the right tier

Review network usage on computers and mobile devices over a normal usage cycle, then identify which traffic will pass through cross-border routes. Messaging, web browsing and code searches usually use less data, while video, system images, cloud files and frequent media work can raise usage significantly. Unlimited devices means multiple devices can connect at once; it does not give each device a separate allowance. All devices share the traffic in the current plan.

If the current tier is not enough, upgrade during use. The mid-cycle price difference is converted into remaining days, so you do not need to wait for the next reset date. If usage changes substantially with projects or travel, compare a data package that never expires. Payment methods are Alipay, WeChat Pay and USDT; account creation requires only a username and password, with no email address required.
